Focused Psychological Intervention With Dr Ameer Shehab
Dr. Ameer Shehab has undergone specialised extended training to provide Focused Psychological Services. Dr Ameer can act in place of a psychologist as part of a Mental Health Care Plan.
Dr Ameer offers specialised care for conditions including:
- Depression and related conditions
- Phobias
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Insomnia and sleep disorders
- Personality disorders including Borderline Personality Disorder
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Eating Disorder conditions
- Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR)
PLEASE NOTE: In order to ensure maximal psychological benefit and minimise out of pocket expenses, Dr Shehab recommends scheduling Extended Consultations at each session time.

15 minutes
Brief/Initial Consultations include an initial assessment by Dr Shehab to identify the presenting problems and provide you with a management plan moving forward, including consideration and discussion of appropriate treatment options.
30 minutes
Standard Consultations include either:
- Creation of a Mental Health Care Plan with completion of initial psychological assessments and referral, or
- Delivery of standard focused psychological interventions by Dr Shehab as part of an ongoing Mental Health Care Plan
60 minutes
Extended Consultations include either:
- Creation of a Mental Health Care Plan with completion of both initial and targeted psychological assessments and referral, or
- Delivery of both standard and comprehensive psychological interventions by Dr Shehab as part of an ongoing Mental Health Care Plan
30 minutes
Review of Mental Health Care Plans involve application of psychological interview and assessment to gauge patient response to treatment in order to coordinate ongoing mental health care.
